EnglishThe mission of the English department at Park University is to instill in its students critical practices in reading, writing and thinking in order to promote creative and humanist responses to literature, life and intellectual endeavor.
No matter what their professional goals, students in our English degree program enjoy a rewarding undergraduate curriculum that presents a wide range of career opportunities upon graduation. A degree in English stresses the development of analytical reading and reasoning skills and the articulate use of oral and written language. But at Park University, the English degree also stresses a global, multicultural focus. It thus equips students with an appreciation of one of the most important cultural artifacts of the human experience–literature–and instills an understanding of the history and culture of diverse societies around the globe. Such an understanding supports Park's core value of commitment to creating community among all people of the world. Join us!
