As a student in our Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree program, you will take face-to-face classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus. Select courses also are available online.

The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree requires a minimum of 122 completed credit hours, including 36 hours of degree-specific core curriculum and approved electives, depending on your concentration, all designed to help you develop strong analytical skills. As a student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree, you will develop analytical skills while learning how to become participative citizens and actively engage in modern politics. Through hands-on learning and practice, students will become active participants in the political landscape.

Because of its diverse nature, this program prepares you for a variety of career paths. Political science majors may pursue careers in private and public-sector organizations, including careers in business, law, state, local and federal government, journalism, international organizations and finance, political campaigns, interest groups and associations, and teaching. Program Highlights

While pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree, you may choose from one of two areas of concentration to study: American Politics or International Politics, depending on your area of interest. You will also have an opportunity to develop your research skills through your senior thesis and experience the practical application of the skills you have learned in the classroom through an internship.
