Admissions Process: How do I get started?

  1. Complete the online application for admission form.
  2. Pay your $25.00 non-refundable application fee either online, mail or in person.
  3. Request your official high school transcript and your official ACT/SAT scores to be mailed to Park University. (Can be sent as early as your 6th semester).

  4. If you have taken dual credits (college credits) while in high school, you will need to request to have that college transcript mailed to Park University as well. This can be done by contacting the college you took the course from and completing a request for transcript at that school.
  5. After you apply, you will receive a status letter in the mail from us stating what we need from you to complete your admission file if you are still missing any documents.
  6. After we receive everything we need from you, you will receive a letter stating your admissions status.

Admissions Requirements

Our admission requirements for first year students are:

  1. Students who have a high school unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) are eligible for admission to Park University, regardless of ACT or SAT scores. ACT, SAT, or Park University assessment scores will be required for English and mathematics placement purposes.
  2. Students who qualify for Missouri's A-Plus Program (or equivalent program in another state) are automatically eligible for admission as freshmen at Park University.
  3. For students not included in either of the first two criteria, qualification in at least two of the following are required:
    • 2.0 grade point average unweighted (on a 4.0 scale),
    • and/or rank in upper 50 percent of class
    • and/or minimum ACT composite score of 20 or a combined SAT score of 950 (Critical Reading and Math only).
  4. GED Certificate with a total score of at least 2500 (five areas) and no area less than 450, as well as a minimum ACT composite score of 20 or a combined SAT score of 950 (Critical Reading and Math only) .

Prospective students not meeting the above criteria may be considered on an individual basis. The Office of Admissions will forward the request to the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for final disposition.

Park University seeks students with a record of academic achievement, involvement in the community and good character. No applicant will be denied admission on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or veteran's status.

English and Math Placement Policy for New Students

No testing is required for any student transferring in college credit with a grade of "C" or better for the traditional freshman English composition sequence, (Park University's EN 105 & EN 106) or College Algebra (Park University's MA131).

All other students will be evaluated based on their ACT or SAT English and Mathematics sub scores as follows:

ENGLISH PLACEMENT
English subscore on the ACT of 21 or higher, or SAT of 500 or higher will result in the student's automatic placement in EN 105 (Writing Strategies and Concepts).

MATHEMATICS PLACEMENT
Math subscore on the ACT of 21 or higher, or SAT of 500 or higher will result in the student's automatic placement in MA 131 (College Algebra).

A lower subscore in either of these areas will require the student to take the appropriate Park University Academic Skills Assessment.
