FALL SEMESTER ENDS WITH MEN AT ROCKHURST; WOMEN TRAVEL TO OTTAWA
PARKVILLE, MO--In the final sporting events of the fall semester, the Park University men's and women's basketball teams will play on the road Saturday.  At 1:00 p.m., Park's men (10-5) will tip off against the Rockhurst University Hawks (7-2) in Kansas City, Mo.  The game will be taped by T.E.A.M. Sports for delayed television broadcast on December 26.  See the schedule below for channels and times.
    The Park University women's basketball team (4-8) is getting set to travel to Ottawa, Kan., for a 2:00 p.m. contest with the Ottawa University Lady Braves (2-7).  Park's basketball teams will resume their schedules with home games in early January.

Men's Basketball Results
PIRATES COME FROM BEHIND TO CLIP #17 MCKENDREE
PARKVILLE, MO--The #17 McKendree College Bearcats (11-3) owned an eleven point advantage at halftime, 43-32, but Park University's up-tempo pace and high-pressure defense gave the Pirates (10-5) just enough to defeat McKendree, 75-71.  The Pirates grabbed their first lead of the game at the 16:32 mark in the second half.  Senior Marvin Cash made a pair of free throws in the final seconds to seal the win for Park.  
     Kelly Kindall had 19 points for Park University.  Marvin Cash had 14 points and five assists.  McKendree's 6-11 center Matt Laur had 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Men's Basketball Results
#18 OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN EDGES PARK, 63-62
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (9-5) struggled to shoot a stiff-rimmed 33-percent from the Breckon Sports Center floor Friday night as undefeated #18 Oklahoma Christian University Eagles (9-0) squeaked by Claude English's Pirates, 63-62.  Park was down by as many as ten points at 47-37 before sophomore Tony Deshay stroked four-three-pointers for Park. The Pirates had a chance to win the game with a last second shot and putback attempt, both of which rimmed out.  Park's Wendell Jones finished with 18 points; Deshay scored 12 points. 
     Oklahoma Christian was led by Jacques Vandescure and Brandon Kephart with 16 points each.  Devin Nightengale and Sam Word each had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles.

Women's Basketball Results
PARK HANDLED BY #16 OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY, 82-50
PARKVILLE, MO--Oklahoma Christian (9-4) grabbed the lead early and held onto it for all forty minutes Friday night as the Eagles defeated Park University (4-7), 82-50.  Thirteen players scored for the Pirates; none reached double-figures.  Oklahoma Christian's high 2-3 zone tested Park's offensive sets; the Pirates coughed up 31 turnovers.  Caley Gregg had 20 points and nine rebounds for OCU.
