PARK BASKETBALL
TESTS BRIAR CLIFF NEXT
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University
travels to Briar Cliff University this Saturday for an afternoon
double-header in Sioux City, Iowa. At 3:00 p.m., Park women's basketball
(5-10) tips off against the Chargers (13-7). The men's game between Park
(11-6) and Briar Cliff (10-5), currently ranked #21 nationally in the
NAIA men's division II poll, follows with a tip-off scheduled for 5:00
p.m. Park's men are currently ranked 12th nationally in scoring defense,
allowing an average of just 67.9 points per contest. Briar Cliff ranks
12th nationally in three-point field goal percentage. The Chargers have
made 80-of-205 three-pointers for an average of 39 percent. Briar Cliff also averages a
+7 rebounding advantage over opponents this season; Park's margin is
+2.2.

Women's Basketball Results
LATE FREE THROWS
BOOST NEWMAN OVER PARK, 63-59
PARKVILLE, MO-The Newman University
Jets (9-11) made five free throws to Park's one foul shot in the final
two minute of regulation Tuesday night. Newman won the contest 63-59.
Park's Le'Nae Gilmore tallied 20 points to lead all scorers. Teammate
Muneerah Williams contributed 18 points and 17 rebounds against the Jets
who traveled to Parkville from Wichita, Kan. Park had two three-point
attempts sail short in the final forty-eight seconds of play.
Park University junior guard Glenda Grant
distributed seven assists in the game. She currently ranks fifth
nationally in the NAIA in assists per game, averaging 5.7 assists per
game in thirteen games played.
Newman University's Tracy Lee had 19 points and
eight rebounds. Sarah Rowe chipped in 12 pints for the Jets.
