MEN'S BASKETBALL CONTEST BETWEEN PARK AND ARKANSAS BAPTIST CANCELLED
PARKVILLE, MO--The Park University men's basketball contest with Arkansas Baptist College, scheduled for Saturday, January 26, at 3:00 p.m. has been cancelled.  The game will not be rescheduled this season.  The return game between Park and Arkansas Baptist on February 23 in Little Rock, Ark., has also been cancelled.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RESULTS
PIRATES EDGE MISSOURI VALLEY, 60-58
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (6-11) and Missouri Valley College (9-13) played through nineteen lead changes Tuesday evening in Parkville; the final lead change belonged to Park when Tenysha Brown banked in two points from the left post, assisted by Jennifer Payne with one minute, ten seconds remaining.  Brown finished with 15 points; Payne led Park with five assists.  Senior forward Muneerah Williams paced Park with 27 points, including back-to-back three pointers mid-way through the second half to keep Park close.
     Dana Conyers had 10 points and 14 rebounds for Missouri Valley.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL RESULTS
QUINCY HAWKS DEFEAT PARK UNIVERSITY, 3-0, IN SEASON OPENER
QUINCY, ILL--Park University (0-1) dropped its season opener Sunday afternoon at Quincy University's Pepsi Center, falling to the Hawks (3-1), 3-0 (30-17, 30-23, 31-29).  Setter Gustavo Rocha recorded 29 assists in the match; Osvaldo Barreras led Park with 10 kills.  Jason Richards added nine kills.

MEN'S BASKETBALL RESULTS
PIRATES FAIL TO DIG OUT OF FIRST HALF HOLE; LEAVE IOWA WITH ROAD LOSS AT BRIAR CLIFF, 76-58
SIOUX CITY, IOWA--Park University (11-7) trailed by 14 points at halftime, 39-25, to the #21 Briar Cliff University Chargers (11-6) who went on to win the game, 76-58.  Senior guard Monte Jones led all scorers with 23 points; Brandon Cottrell collected five rebounds for Park.  Park limited the usually-hot three-point shooters of Briar Cliff to just 27% from beyond the arc; the Chargers responded by shooting a blistering 56% overall from the floor.  Oliver Ware paced Briar Cliff with 17 points.
