NAIA INDEPENDENT
REGION ANNOUNCES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HONORS
PARKVILLE, MO--Five Park University
women's basketball student-athletes were distinguished with 2001-2002
season honors today:
ALL-REGION FIRST TEAM
Muneerah Williams, a 5-9 senior forward from Greenville, Miss.
ALL-REGION SECOND TEAM
Le'Nae Gilmore, a 5-10 junior forward from Blue Springs, Mo.
ALL-REGION ACADEMIC TEAM
Silya Siniawski, a junior majoring in political science from
Independence, Mo.
Priscilla Torto, a sophomore majoring in computer science from Harare,
Zimbabwe
Jill Stauch, a sophomore majoring in computer science from Tonganoxie,
Kan.
Le'Nae Gilmore, a junior majoring in criminal justice administration

THREE PIRATES
DISTINGUISHED WITH MEN'S BASKETBALL HONORS
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University guards
Monte Jones, Marvin Cash and Kelly Kindall were recognized by the NAIA
Independent Division I Region. Jones, a senior from Memphis,
Tenn., was named All-Region First Team; he averaged 17.2 ppg this
season. Senior Marvin Cash and junior Kelly Kindall were awarded
honorable mention for their contributions to the team's 15-12 season.
Cash led Park with 99 assists this season; Kindall connected on 38.5
percent of his shots from beyond the three-point arc.
The sixth-seeded Pirates (15-12) ended their
season Friday night in a 91-87 loss to third-seeded Life University in
the first round of the NAIA Men's Independent Tournament in Beckley, W.V.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL RESULTS
PIRATES DOUBLE WIN
TOTAL ON TRIP TO DAVENPORT
DAVENPORT, IOWA--Park
University men's volleyball doubled its win total with two wins in less
than twenty-four hours this weekend. On Saturday, Park defeated
Marycrest International University, 3-1. Early Sunday afternoon,
the Pirates knocked off Saint Ambrose University, 3-1. With the
wins, Park improved to 4-9 this season. Park's other wins this
season were against Marycrest International and St. Ambrose at home in
early February.

LIFE GOES
ON; PARK ENDS SEASON, 91-87
BECKLEY, W.V.--Sixth-seeded Park University (15-12) bowed out of the
NAIA Men's Independent Div.I Tournament Friday evening, losing to the #3
seed, Life University, 91-87.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RESULTS
CENTRAL STATE
ADVANCES AT PARK'S EXPENSE, 103-59
WILBERFORCE, OHIO--The top-seed
Central State University advanced to Saturday's NAIA Women's Independent
Div. I Championship by defeating Park University (14-17), 103-59,
Friday. Senior forward Muneerah Williams led Park with 22 points
and nine rebounds in the Pirates' final game of the season.
Tenysha Brown added 12 points and six rebounds for Park. Junior
Le'Nae Gilmore chipped in 11 points.

PIRATES UPSET
SPALDING; ONE-SEED CENTRAL STATE UP NEXT
WILBERFORCE, OHIO--Park University
(14-16) clung to an eleven-point halftime lead to upset #4 seed Spalding
University, 78-68, in the first round of the women's NAIA
Independent Division I Tournament. Le'Nae Gilmore led Park with 24
points; Muneerah Williams scored 19 points and collected nine rebounds.
