National, Regional Pitcher of the Week
PARK UNIVERSITY FRESHMAN
MIKE MURPHY NO-HITS
BAKER UNIVERSITY, RECOGNIZED AS NATIONAL, REGIONAL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
PARKVILLE, MO--Park
University's Mike Murphy, a freshman left-handed pitcher from Kansas
City, Mo., has been named NAIA National Pitcher of the Week after
throwing a no-hit complete game shutout in a 3-0 win against the Baker
University Wildcats. He was credited with the Region V Pitcher of the
Week honor on Monday. A 2001 graduate of St. Pius X High School,
Murphy struck out eight batters and improved to 4-1 overall this season.
It was the second no-hitter in the history of the program. Murphy is the
first Park University baseball student-athlete to be distinguished as
the National Pitcher of the Week. Aaron Brown and Ryan Kiedrowski
were named National Players of the Week during the 2001 season.

Men's Volleyball Results
PARK WINS REGULAR
SEASON FINALE OVER NEWMAN, 3-0
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University
(12-11, 2-8) avenged an early-season MAMVIC Conference loss to the
Newman University from Wichita, Kan., Friday night, defeating the Jets
(17-15, 1-8), 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-13). The win concluded the
regular season and pushed Park over .500 for the first time this season.
Park University and head coach Bertil Wamelink recognized seniors Jason
Richards, Osvaldo Barreras and Nathan Scherman, all playing in their
final home game for the program, during a brief ceremony between the
second and third sets of the match. Park will compete as the fifth
seed in the opening round of the MAMVIC Conference Tournament on April 5
in Fulton, Mo., against #4-seed Graceland University at 1:00 p.m.

Softball Results
FAULCONER
IMPROVES TO 9-5; SHUTS OUT MCPHERSON AND STERLING
BLUE SPRINGS, MO--Park University
sophomore pitcher Sherry Faulconer from Grain Valley, Mo., improved to
9-5 overall this season, throwing shutouts against McPherson College and
Sterling College (14-4) in the opening day of the Dennis Gault Memorial
Tournament in Blue Springs, Mo. Park's bats were also lively,
putting up 10 and six runs, respectively, in the two wins.

SURRENDERS SEVEN HOME RUNS IN PAIR OF LOSSES TO YORK
YORK, NEB--York College's sluggers
surprised Park University Thursday, hitting seven home runs to Park's
three. Nick Rogers, Ruben Vieyra and Allan Singletary had home
runs for Park in the pair of losses to the Region IV opponent.
