USA Today/NACDA Sears Director Cup Standings
PARK UNIVERSITY SLOTTED FIFTH NATIONALLY IN FALL SPORT
NACDA/USA TODAY STANDINGS FOR NAIA
CLEVELAND, OHIO--Following the best combined men's and women's soccer seasons in
school history, Park University is ranked fifth nationally in the NACDA Sears
Director's Cup standings released on Thursday, December 5. The ranking is
the highest ever for Park following the fall seasons. Another update with
be released following winter sports; the final standings are determined at the
end of the academic year. Park University athletics was the only program
from Missouri or Kansas ranked in the top ten out of the four respective sport
divisions--NAIA, and NCAA Division I, II and III. Missouri Southern and
Central Missouri State were ranked 13th and 14th in the NCAA Division II

OF THE WEEK KINDALL RALLIES PARK IN WINS AGAINST SOONER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

MO—Park University’s Kelly Kindall, a senior guard from Fordland, Mo., has
been named Player of the Week for the NAIA Division I Independent Men’s
Basketball Region. Kindall led Park
to a 2-0 week; he scored 31 points against Southern Nazarene University (7-3)
and 17 points against Oklahoma Christian University (8-3). Kindall
was a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line; he shot 38.9-percent from
behind the arc, scoring 7-of-18 three-point tries. |

Men's Basketball Results
PARK GUARDS COMBINE FOR 44 POINTS; TAKE HOME RECORD TO
7-1 WITH WIN OVER OCU
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (8-6) enjoyed 44 points from guards Kelly Kindall
(17), Anthony Styles (14) and Chip Weber (13) and intense defensive pressure
from Corneal Conn and Shannon Thomas (5 blocks), as the Pirates upped their home
record to 7-1 with a 73-67 win against the Oklahoma Christian University Eagles
(8-3). OCU scored the first point of the night, but after an early 1-0
lead, Park took over, building a lead on three early three-pointers by Weber.
At halftime, Park led, 32-25. The Pirates extended their lead to twelve
points late in the contest at 64-52. Dan Durrer led Park with seven
rebounds; he also had 10 points. Osric Woods led OCU with 16 points; Devin
Nightengale contributed 15 points. In their next contest, Park travels to
Liberty, Mo., for a 2:00 p.m. game against William Jewell College next Saturday.

Women's Basketball Results
PIRATES OVERMATCHED VERSUS #21 COLUMBIA COLLEGE 
PARKVILLE, MO--Five Columbia College players scored in double-figures as Park
University (1-9) mustered just 42 points on 30.3-percent shooting from the
floor. Columbia College (7-3) defeated the Pirates, 78-42 Senior forward Katrina
Nichols led Park with 12 points. Tenysha Brown had nine rebounds. Columbia
outrebounded Park 47-43; the Cougars scored 28 points off turnovers, compared to
Park's 13-point output in that category. | BOX

Women's Basketball Results
MERIWEATHER, PIRATES SECURE FIRST WIN DURING TRIP TO
LAWRENCE 
LAWRENCE, KAN.--Park University (1-8) grabbed an early lead Thursday night
against the Haskell University Fighting Indians and held on to get their first
victory of the 2002-2003 season, winning 69-60. The Pirates led 45-32 at
halftime. Tenysha Brown had 19 points and six rebounds for Park.
Jill Stauch was the leading rebounder with seven boards; she also had eight
points. Freshman guard Tangela Rogers scored 11 points for Park. The
Pirates return to Parkville for a 7:00 p.m. game against #21 Columbia College
