THREE SENIORS EARN SPOTS ON MCAC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
WICHITA, KAN.--Following the conclusion of the MCAC baseball tournament, three
Park University seniors were named First Team All-Conference: Ryan Kiedrowski,
Ben Weber and Joe Barbosa. Kiedrowski, a shortstop from Lincoln, Neb.,
batted .403 in the conference with 21 RBI. He made 20 double plays this
season, defensively. Weber, a utility player from Oxford, Kan., batted
.347 in conference play with four home runs and a.569 slugging percentage.
Barbosa led Park in hitting for the second consecutive year, batting .412
overall with eight home runs (.444 in MCAC play, with five home runs); however,
his selection to the All-Conference team was for his pitching. He went a
perfect 5-0 in MCAC play, averaging 6.8 strikeouts per outing, .5 walks and 1.32
earned runs per outing.

PARK WRENCHED FROM MCAC PLAYOFFS
BY BELLEVUE, NEWMAN TO END SEASON
OMAHA, NEB.--Park University (30-16) concluded the 2003 season on Friday
with losses to #1 Bellevue and #2 Newman. In the 4-3 loss to Bellevue, the
game-winning run scored after a collision between a runner and the shortstop,
which left the ball rolling into the dugout as the runner scored in the bottom
of the ninth. Newman University avenged Thursday's loss, answering Park
with an 8-5 win to eliminate the Pirates from the playoffs. Ryan
Kiedrowski had a two-run blast in the first game; Stephen Kent delivered a
homerun in the second game for Park. Ben Weber was 2-for-4 with three RBI
and a pair of doubles in the season finale versus Newman.
