Women's Basketball Results
PARK BLASTS PAST AVILA IN HOME SEASON OPENER, 85-61
PARKVILLE, MO--After holding the Avila University Eagles (2-1) to just
20-percent from the floor in the first half, Park University (2-0) built on a
20-point halftime lead to seal the 85-61 win Tuesday night in Parkville. As a
team, Park ended the night 32-of-65 (49.2%) from the floor; the Pirates enjoyed
21 second-chance points to Avila's eight.
Junior forward Randi Meissner led all players with 23 points and 14
rebounds. Guard Crystal Tutschulte was 8-for-11 from the floor. She ended the
night with 22 points. Kristin Gilmore contributed a double-double for Park,
turning in 17 points and 11 rebounds by game's end. Avila's Kayla Thomas led
the Eagles with 13 points. Park returns to the court on Thursday evening; the
Pirates host Harris-Stowe State College at 7:00 p.m. |

NAIA Region IV Women's Soccer Tournament
PIRATES KEEP IT CLOSE, WIN OVERTIME BATTLE AGAINST
OTTAWA, 4-3 
PARKVILLE, MO--In the first-ever meeting between Park University and Ottawa
University in women's soccer, the teams battled for 97 minutes before Park broke
the deadlock when freshman forward Julia Eshikumo scored her third goal of the
afternoon. Park won the match, 4-3. Ottawa led early, scoring two goals in the
first twenty minutes; Park tied the game before halftime, 2-2. Senior
midfielder Janice Huffman scored the fourth goal for Park on an assist from
Kesiann Francis in the 78th minute. Ottawa's senior captain Amber McGinnis
brought the Lady Braves back with a goal just minutes later at the 81:08 mark.
As the #3-seed in the Region IV tournament, Park advances to play #2-seed
College of St. Mary (14-4-3) on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. in Hastings, Neb.
Park defeated the Flames 2-1 last weekend to claim the MCAC Conference
Championship. Park is 10-1-0 against College of St. Mary since the programs
started competing in 1995. Seven of those matches have been decided by one
goal. With Tuesday's win, #13 Park is 7-0-0 in one-goal matches this year.

MCAC Men's Soccer Conference Tournament
ODEDE, BOERSMA SELECTED PLAYERS OF THE YEAR IN
MCAC; SEVEN PIRATES NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE
WICHITA, KAN.--Junior midfielder Enock Odede has been named MCAC
Offensive Player of the Year in men's soccer by a vote of MCAC coaches; teammate
Justin Boersma was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. Both awards
came at the conclusion of the MCAC Conference Tournament, following a season in
which #18 Park swept conference opponents for a perfect 5-0-0 record in the
league.
Odede and Boersma were joined on the MCAC First Team by defender Magnus
Gunnarsson, midfielders Chris Lisaka and Henok Belayneh, and freshman forward
Paul McLaughlin. Second Team honors went to defender Daniel Jiregna. |

NAIA Region IV Soccer Tournaments
PIRATES PREPARE FOR REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS; WOMEN HOST
OTTAWA ON TUESDAY
PARKVILLE, MO--The #13 Park University women's soccer team (12-4-1)
is seeded third in the six-team NAIA Region IV Tournament. Park will host
#6-seed Ottawa University (17-2-1) at Julian Field on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00
p.m. The winner will advance to Friday's semifinal match in Hastings, Neb.
Park's #18 men's soccer team (13-6-0) is the #2 seed heading into regional
play. Park will play at 8:00 p.m. Friday in Hastings, Neb.

Cross Country Results
PARK UNIVERSITY RUNNERS BLAZE THROUGH SUB-ZERO
TEMPERATURES IN LINCOLN 
LINCOLN, NEB.--The Park University men's and women's cross country teams ran in
sub-zero temperatures at the NAIA Region IV meet on Saturday. Readings
registered 24-degrees at the start of the men's 8,000-meter race in which Park
finished fourth as a team--the highest team finish at a regional meet in six
years. Park's women finished eighth out of twenty teams in the 5,000-meter
race. Crystal Bethel led the women, finishing 14th overall in 20 minutes, 1.0
seconds.
For the men, Mabior Atem (2nd, 25:34) and Keith Longuski (10th, 26:24) were
named NAIA All-Region IV and qualified for the NAIA National Championship Meet
on November 22 in Louisville, Ky. |

MEISSNER POWERS PARK TO 1-0 WITH 20
POINTS AND 18 REBOUNDS AT LANGSTON
LANGSTON, OKLA.--Junior forward Randi Meissner scored 20
points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead all players as Park (1-0) surprised
Langston University with a 61-56 win at C.F. Gayles Fieldhouse on Saturday
afternoon. Park led 27-21 at halftime. Meissner was 8-for-12 from the floor,
including 3-of-6 from beyond the three-point arc. Randi Johnson and Kristin
Gilmore helped the Pirates with 10 points each. Park will host Avila University
at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. For Langston, Cynthia Hogg had 16 points and nine
rebounds. |

Women's Volleyball Results
SENIOR DAY WIN OVER OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN LIFTS WOMEN'S
VOLLEYBALL AT SEASON'S END
PARKVILLE, MO--The Park University women's volleyball team (13-21, 6-9) pushed
past Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Saturday's Senior Day match, 3-1 (30-22,
31-29, 28-30, and 30-27). For Park, the season ended on a positive note, with
two MCAC wins less than 24 hours apart. Seniors Kim Vernon, Bianca Hendricks,
Veronica Mobley and Nyala Cheirs were recognized before the match. Junior
outside hitter Sugglis Chinchilla led Park with 20 kills. Mobley had four
blocks and seven kills.

JOHN BROWN POURS IN 57-PERCENT OF THREES IN HOME WIN
VERSUS PARK 
SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK.--The #14 John Brown University Golden Eagles (2-0) were red
hot from the three-point line Saturday afternoon. Eagles' shooters connected on
16-of-28 three-point attempts on the way to a 76-69 win against Park University
(0-2). Park shot 5-of-15 from the arc. Guards Brandon Cole (22 points) and
Abdiel Mendita (14 points) led John Brown in scoring. Park's Chip Weber led his
team with 16 points. Derek Stanley (14 points), Chuck Reed (10 points) and Dan
Durrer (10) also scored in double-figures for the Pirates. In their next game,
Park travels to William Jewell College on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.

MCAC Men's Soccer Conference Tournament
PARK TOPPLES OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN; BELLEVUE KNOCKS OFF

PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (12-6-0) advanced to the MCAC Conference
Championship match with a 7-0 win against Oklahoma Wesleyan University (11-8-0)
Friday afternoon. The Pirates scored five goals in the first half--three from
freshman Paul McLaughlin and a pair from senior Almir Lemes Jr.
In the second half,
sophomores Henok Belayneh and Ross Stride found the net for the Pirates.
Ricardo Avalos recorded his eighth shutout of the season.
Park will face Bellevue University (9-7-2) in the MCAC Championship on
Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Bellevue advanced after defeating Newman
University (9-8-3), 2-1, on Friday. The Bruins led 2-0 on goals by David
Oluyole and Manaf Yacoubou. Newman's Peter Kiriakov narrowed the margin to 2-1
at the 84:54 mark, but Bellevue held on for the win.

Women's Volleyball Results
PIRATES TURN AWAY LADY TIGERS IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (12-21, 5-9) broke a five-game skid Friday when
the Pirates defeated the Central Christian College Lady Tigers (4-21, 0-15) in
MCAC women's volleyball. Game scores were 30-22, 30-20, and 30-16. Bianca
Hendricks had 28 assits to lead Park; Francesca Chavez added 12 assists.
Tenysha Brown and Jessica Silliman each posted ten kills in the win. Terra Van
Duine had 12 digs for the Pirates.
Park hosts Oklahoma Wesleyan in their final home match of the regular
season at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

FLAMES, PIRATES ADVANCE TO FRIDAY'S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
PARKVILLE, MO--Senior Pam Bedzrah scored two goals and Janice Huffman headed in
a cross-pass from Kesiann Francis as #13 Park University (11-4-1) defeated the
Bellevue University Bruins (6-12-1), 3-1 in the MCAC Conference Tournament
Thursday afternoon. Park will face College of St. Mary (14-3-3) in Friday's
championship at 5:00 p.m. The Flames posted a 3-0 shutout against Newman
University in Thursday's nightcap. Carrie Sharp (2) and Ashley Vacek did the
scoring for College of St. Mary, while Gina Green recorded the shutout.
