MEN'S SOCCER PROGRAM ACCUMULATES HONORS; ODEDE
NAMED 3RD TEAM ALL-AMERICAN  
PARKVILLE, MO--Junior midfielder Enock Odede has been named NAIA Third
Team All-American after a season in which he led Park with 40 points (13
goals, 14 assists). Junior defender Justin Boersma and freshman
forward Paul McLaughlin were dubbed Honorable Mention All-Americans by the
NAIA. Odede, Boersma and McLaughlin were also first team selections
in NAIA Region IV. Junior midfielder Chris Lisaka and sophomore
midfielder Henok Belayneh were distinguished as NAIA All-Region IV Second
Team selections following Park's 14-8-1 season. |

PARK FORWARDS SCORE GOALS, HONORS ON ALL-REGION
TEAM
PARKVILLE, MO--The 2003 Pirates' goal-scoring tandem of Pam Bedzrah and
Julia Eshikumo both found spots on the All-Region team for NAIA Region IV.
Combined, the pair averaged 2.36 goals per game on average; Eshikumo, a
freshman from Nairobi, Kenya, led the team with 26 goals this season,
while Bedzrah, a senior from London, England, contributed 19 goals this
season. Head coach Scott Bowen was also named NAIA Region IV Coach
of the Year after leading the Pirates to their second consecutive Region
IV Championship and NAIA National Championship Tournament appearance.|

BROWN, CHINCHILLA AWARDED MCAC ALL-CONFERENCE
ACCOLADES
WICHITA, KAN.--Juniors Tenysha Brown (middle hitter, Kansas City, Mo.) and
Sugglis Chinshilla (outside hitter, Merida, Venezuela) were named
All-Conference by the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches
following the 2003 season. Brown, a first-team selection, led the
Pirates with a .352 hitting percentage this season. She played in
127 games, connecting on 368 kills in 690 attempted. Brown was also Park's
leader in blocks with 74 solo and 114 block assists. Chinchilla was
named MCAC All-Conference Second Team. As a newcomer this season,
she posted a team-leading 3.3 kills per game through 105 games.

Women's Basketball Results
PIRATES SINK LADY VIKINGS; IMPROVE TO 9-2
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University improved to 9-2 with Saturday's 59-46 win
over the Lady Vikings of Grand View College (7-6). Crystal
Tutschulte led the Pirates with 19 points; she was 6-of-11 from the floor
and 5-of-9 from the three point line. Randi Meissner added 15 points
and 8 rebounds. Senior forward Priscilla Torto, who is known best
her defensive efforts, contributed 11 points.
Amanda Kramer had 11 points to lead Grand View College.
Park travels to Avila College next Saturday, December
13, for a 2:00 p.m. tip. |

EAGLES SETTLE SCORE WITH PIRATES, EVEN SEASON
SERIES
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA--Less than two weeks after Park University (4-8)
notched its first win of the season against then-undefeated Oklahoma
Christian (9-1), the Eagles evened the score, dousing Park's three-game
win streak with a 90-50 loss on Saturday afternoon. It was the most
lopsided defeat of the season for the Pirates who will resume play on
December 31 at home against Brescia University at 2:00 p.m.
Oklahoma Christian's Jared Merrill led all players with
34 points; his team was up 44-24 at halftime. For Park, senior Bill
Winston had nine points. |

Women's Basketball Results
PARK DOMINATES STRUGGLING LADY BOBCATS, 91-37
PARKVILLE, MO--All ten Park University Pirates contributed on the
offensive end of the most lopsided win of the season: Friday night's 91-37
victory against a winless Peru State squad. Park (8-2) jumped to a
15-0 lead, holding Peru State (0-10) scoreless through the first seven
minutes of the game. The Lady Bobcats closed within 10 points at
19-9 halfway through the first period; it was the closest the two teams
would come as Park accumulated 34 steals as a team while soaring to a
91-point effort--the highest total this season.
Forward Rochelle Davitt had 12 points and 11 rebounds
for Peru State.
Tenysha Brown (14 points), Kristin Gilmore (12 points),
Crystal Tutschulte (12 points), Randi Johnson (12 points) and Priscilla
Torto (10 points) posted double-figure scoring for Park. Park
outrebounded the Lady Bobcats, 57-40. Park hosts Grand View College
(7-5) in the final home game of the semester on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

PIRATES TARNISH #7 GOLDEN EAGLES WITH IMPROVED
CHEMISTRY
PARKVILLE, MO--After weeks of jostling lineups due to injuries,
eleventh-year head coach Claude English formulated a combination good
enough to defeat #7 John Brown University (9-1), 73-56. Park's
matchups were favorable in the first half as they built a 1 4-point
lead and throughout the second half when the Pirates surged ahead by as
many as 21 points, leading by their biggest margin, 53-32, at the 12:57
mark. It was Park's third win in a row.
Down 11-9 five minutes into the contest, the Pirates
put together an 11-2 run, made up of three-point baskets by Chip Weber (2)
and Bill Winston and a putback by sophomore Thomas Holmes. Park
stayed in front of the Golden Eagles for the rest of the night.
Winston finished with 21 points to lead all players;
Weber contributed 17 points, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Senior Russell Adell dished off four assists; freshman Ryan Meissner
claimed eight rebounds.
For the Golden Eagles, Rejavick de Gracia pounded in 10
points. Park will face Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City at
1:00 p.m. on Saturday. |
