PARK MOVES TO 4-2 IN MAMVIC WITH CONFERENCE WIN OVER
GRACELAND, 3-0
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (10-3, 4-2) improved its conference mark to 4-2
with a straight-game sweep against the Graceland University Yellowjackets (1-6,
0-4) on Tuesday evening. Park defeated Graceland 30-19, 32-30, and 30-19.
The Pirates take on Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Mo. on Saturday,
February 28, at 2:00 p.m.

EVANGEL PREVAILS IN SEASON OPENER
FOR PIRATES
SPRINGFIELD, MO.--Park (0-2) dropped its season-opening doubleheader in
Springfield, Mo., Monday afternoon, losing to Evangel University, 9-6 and
2-1. Adam Clay took the loss in the opener; he was supported by two-hit
offensive efforts by Aaron Courter, Luke Johnson and R.J. Nab. Nab also
had 2 RBI in the opener. In the second game, Kenny Theerman worked through
five innings before surrendering two runs--enough to fall behind, 2-1.
Andy Morgan had a pair of hits in the second game. Robby Reed finished the
afternoon 6-for-7 with two doubles.

Women's Basketball Results
MUSTANGS ROUT PIRATES IN MOST LOPSIDED GAME OF THE
SEASON, 86-36
SIOUX CITY, IOWA--The Morningside College Mustangs (25-3) treated Park
University (19-4) to its most lopsided loss of the season Monday evening in
Sioux City, defeating Park by 50 points: 86-36. Uncharacteristically, the
Pirates committed 32 turnovers while shooting just 14-of-40 from the floor.
Morningside College was led by Megan Cloud with 25 points and Kate Lokken with
20 points. Latasha Johnson mustered nine points for the Pirates; Randi
Meissner had eight points and seven rebounds. Park travels to Little Rock,
Ark., on Saturday where they will face Philander Smith College at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Volleyball Results
NEWMAN UNIVERSITY OVERTAKES PIRATES ON THE ROAD, 3-1
WICHITA, KAN--Newman University (10-4, 3-0) jumped the Pirates in the MAMVIC
standings with Saturday's 3-1 win against the visiting Pirates (9-3, 3-2).
The Jets won the match, 34-32, 30-21, 28-30, and 30-28. Marco Rabello and
Cristian Maciel each had 19 kills to lead Park; Maciel added 11 digs.
Senior setter Gustavo Rocha recorded 58 set-assists for the Pirates. Park
hosts Graceland University on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball Results
PARK ICES PHILANDER SMITH COLLEGE, 97-68
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (10-15) shot 56.3% from the floor Saturday
afternoon on the way to a 97-68 win against the Philander Smith College
Panthers. The Pirates were ahead 42-34 at halftime. Damien Stanley
notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Dan Durrer led
Park with 21 points. Chuck Reed (10 points), Derek Stanley (14 points),
Chip Weber (13 points) and Ryan Meissner (11 points) all scored in
double-figures for the Pirates who travel to Wichita on Tuesday, February 17,
for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against the Newman University Jets.

PIRATES SCALE TO 13-1 AT HOME, CLOSE OUT
HANNIBAL-LAGRANGE, 66-56
PARKVILLE, MO--With Thursday's 66-56 victory in their home- season
finale against Hannibal-LaGrange College (14-9), Park University improved to
19-3 overall and 13-1 at home. In a pre-game ceremony, the program
recognized Miah Ingersoll, Tenysha Brown, Priscilla Torto and Kristin
Gilmore--the four seniors competing in their final home contest.
Throughout the first half, Park and Hannibal-LaGrange
stayed within six points of each other and traded the lead three times.
Tara Richards' three-pointer at the buzzer gave the Trojans a one-point lead,
27-26, heading into halftime.
In the second half, junior guard Crystal Tutschulte let
loose, pouring in a team-high nine points in the final twenty minutes of action.
She finished with 17 points to lead Park. Randi Meissner had 10 points and
nine rebounds in the game. For Hannibal-LaGrange, Megan Martin scored 20
points; Ashley Spratt added 12 points. Park travels to Sioux City, Iowa,
to face Morningside College on Monday, February 16, at 6:00 p.m.
