PIRATES TOP MISSOURI VALLEY IN HOME SWEEP, IMPROVE TO 4-6Missouri Valley CollegePark University
PARKVILLE, MO.--
Park University (4-6) picked up a pair of wins against the visiting Missouri Valley College Vikings on Tuesday afternoon.  Senior Sherry Faulconer improved to 2-4 with the pitching victory in the first game; Holly Gentry moved to 2-1 with a win in the second game.  Park will play in the Avila University Tournament this weekend, March 26-27.

Baseball Results

VISIT TO LIBERTY SPOILED BY PAIR OF LOSSES TO WILLIAM JEWELLPark UniversityWilliam Jewell College (Mo.)

RTY, MO--Park University (11-11) stumbled back to .500 Tuesday afternoon with a pair of losses to the William Jewell College Cardinals, 11-6 and 5-4.  In the first game, senior Hank Edwards sent out his fifth homerun of the season.  Luke Johnson (2-4, 2 RBI) and Aaron Courter (2-3) also hit well for the Pirates, who have now dropped five straight.  In the second game, Park rallied for four runs in the top of the final inning--one short of William Jewell.  R.J. Nab (3H), Dane Phillippe (2H) and Travis Cunningham (2H) sparked the Pirates' outing.

Baseball Results

EIGHT ERRORS COSTLY TO PARK IN PAIR OF LOSSES TO CULVER-STOCKTON
PARKVILLE, MO--An abundance of fielding errors led Park to a pair of losses against the visiting Culver-Stockton College Wildcats (15-10) on Saturday afternoon.  The first game, a 5-2 loss, was highlighted by R.J. Nab's pair of hits with two runs scored.  Robby Reed also had two hits for the Pirates who kept within 3-2 until the top of the seventh inning when CSC posted two runs against losing pitcher Kenny Theerman (3-2).  In the second game, Park was defeated, 8-5.  Reed went 3-for-4 with two runs; Dane Phillippe was 2-for-2 with two RBI.  The Pirates out-hit the Wildcats, 17-11, for the afternoon series. Park travels to Liberty, Mo., for a doubleheader against William Jewell College on Tuesday, March 23.

Softball Results
PARK, CULVER-STOCKTON KEEP IT CLOSE IN SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER
PARKVILLE, MO.--Each team picked up a narrow victory on Saturday afternoon as Park University (2-6) and Culver-Stockton College squared off in an inter-region doubleheader.  The Wildcats (5-14) trailed early in the first game before rallying for a 3-1 win.  In the second game, Holly Gentry and Park's defense held CSC to two runs as the Pirates won 3-2 in eight innings.  Park hosts Missouri Valley on Tuesday, March 23, at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Volleyball Results

PARK SCALES PAST KENDALL, #2 MO. BAPTIST TO FINISH 3-1 IN CLASSIC
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (16-5) started the day with a 3-0 sweep against Kendall College, then followed up with a hard-fought win over #2-ranked Missouri Baptist University in the final day of the Park University-Lexington Hotel Suites Men's Volleyball Classic.  Against Mo. Baptist, the Pirates won, 3-2 (28-30, 30-21, 27-30, 30-22, 17-15).  Park travels to Lamoni, Iowa to face Graceland University on MAMVIC Conference action on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Volleyball Results
PIRATES TOP GRACELAND, SUCCUMB TO NEWMAN ON DAY ONE OF LEXINGTON HOTEL SUITES CLASSIC
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (14-5) opened the 2004 Park University-Lexington Hotel Suites Classic Tournament with a convincing 3-1 win against the Graceland University Yellowjackets.  Game scores were 30-27, 24-30, 30-28, and 30-15.  In the nightcap, Park and Newman battled through five games.  The #4-ranked Jets came away with the victory, 3-2 (30-16, 25-30, 30-25, 31-33, 15-11). The Pirate return to action at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning against Kendall College.
