Women's Golf Results
FRESHMAN KATIE JOHNSON
LEADS PARK AS THIRD LOW MEDALIST IN INAUGURAL TOURNAMENT
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University women's golf
teed off Wednesday morning in the program's inaugural event at The
National. Rockhurst University was victorious in team scoring with
385; Newman University (391) and York College (399) rounded out the top
three. Freshman Katie Johnson posted a 90 to lead Park University;
her score was good enough to win third low medalist. Amber Johnson
(87, York College) and Cara Bartow (89, William Jewell) took the top two
low medalist positions.

ROAD WOES CONTINUE TO PLAGUE
PARK AT PERU STATE
PERU, NEB--Park University slid to 4-8 on the
road this season with a pair of losses to the Peru State Bobcats in MCAC
Conference action Tuesday afternoon. The Pirates let the first game go,
11-0; the Bobcats took the second game, 3-2. Aaron Courter and R.J. Nab
each had three hits in the second contest as the Pirates, currently ranked
#10 in NAIA Region IV, dropped to 13-14, 2-3 in the conference.

ADAM CLAY'S TWO-HIT SHUTOUT
EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS IN MCAC
WICHITA, KAN.--Junior pitcher Adam Clay
has been named Pitcher of the Week in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic
Conference. Clay tossed a two-hit shutout on Friday in Park's 5-0 win
against #17 Bellevue University. He struck out eleven Bruins in the
contest to improve to 5-1 this season. The Pirates' record
stands at 13-12, 2-1 in the MCAC.

NATIONALS IN HIGH JUMP; CLEARS SIX FEET, ELEVEN INCHES
OVERLAND PARK, KAN.--Senior Denzel
Williams qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Saturday's
Johnson County Invitational Meet. In the first meet of the outdoor
season, his mark of 6-11 in the high jump secured his position in Olathe
(the site of Nationals) at the end of May.

RAIN-SHORTENED AVILA TOURNAMENT

record at 7-7 with a pair of wins on Saturday against Central Methodist
and Iowa Wesleyan. Holly Gentry (3-2) and Sherry Faulconer (4-4)
earned the pitching victories. Park opens MCAC Conference play against
Newman University on Friday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m.

avenged Friday's pair of losses, delivering a 21-run onslaught at Park
University's Julian Field on Saturday. Park (13-12, 2-1) fell to the
Bruins, 21-3. Hank Edwards accounted for Park's offense when he knocked a
three-run homerun in the bottom of the first inning.

Men's Volleyball Results
PIRATES FLATTEN MISSOURI BAPTIST IN SENIOR DAY
VICTORY
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (18-5, 9-3) closed out the regular season
with a MAMVIC conference win against the top team in the conference,
Missouri Baptist University (18-6, 10-2), 3-1. Game scores were 36-34,
26-30, 31-29, 30-20. Senior setter Gustavo Rocha posted 54 set-assists
for the Pirates who finished third this season in the MAMVIC. Sophomore
Walker Swan (11K, 6B), sophomore Marco Rabello (16K), senior Kelvin Bush
(12K, 6B) and freshman Jonathan Nino (11D) performed well for the Pirates
in the win. Third-seeded Park University will face sixth-seeded Graceland
University in the first round of the MAMVIC Conference Tournament in St.
Louis, Mo., on Friday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m.

PARK SCORES BIG WINS OVER #17
BELLEVUE IN MCAC OPENER 
PARKVILLE, MO--Park
University (13-11, 2-0) opening the 2004 MCAC schedule with an unexpected
result. On Friday, the Pirates stole away a pair of games from #17
Bellevue, 4-2 and 5-0. In the first game, Kenny Theerman picked up the
win, supported by reliever Dane Phillippe who earned the save. Hank
Edwards led Park at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. R.J. Nab and
Robby Reed each contributed a pair of hits in the game. In the second
contest, Adam Clay threw a two-hit shutout, striking out eleven batters
and walking none in the 5-0 win. Edwards added two more RBI; Aaron
Courter went 2-for-3 for the Pirates. Bellevue and Park match up for
another doubleheader on Saturday; first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
at Comfort Field.

MARY, SUCCUMBS TO ST. GREGORY'S
KANSAS CITY, MO.--On the first day of the
Avila University Tournament, Park University (5-7) came away with a win
and a loss. In the opening contest, a 2-0 victory against University of
St. Mary (Kan.), senior Sherry Faulconer earned the shutout pitching win
and launched a homerun to lead Park. St. Gregory's poured it on the
Pirates in the second game, topping Park, 12-0.
