Women's Golf News
JOHNSON SHOOTS 172 AT LINDENWOOD
ST. CHARLES, MO--Park University freshman Katie Johnson shot a combined
172--good enough for fourth low medalist--at the Lindenwood University
Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, April 19-20. She scored 89 in the first
round and 83 in the second round.

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL GAMES
CANCELLED
PARKVILLE, MO--The baseball and softball
doubleheaders scheduled for today have been cancelled due to continuing rain in
the forecast. Park baseball will make up the games against College of the
Ozarks on Tuesday, April 27, at 1:00 p.m.
The softball games between Park
and Haskell INU have been rescheduled for May 2
at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Golf Results
FRESHMAN JOHNSON TAKES FOURTH LOW MEDALIST AT WILLIAM JEWELL
LIBERTY, MO--Katie Johnson continued to lead
Park University's women's golf program, this time finishing as the fourth low
medalist at the William Jewell Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17.
Johnson shot 89 on the first day and 84 on the second day for a combined score
of 173. Seven teams competed in the event.

Men's Volleyball Results
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL REPEAT BID ENDS IN NATIONAL SEMIFINALS
WICHITA, KAN--National Tournament host Newman University ended Park University's
repeat bid in the NAIA National Invitational Tournament on Saturday.
Newman and Park met in the semifinals at 2:00 p.m.; Newman came away with the
win, defeating Park, 3-2 (30-26, 30-28, 32-34, 30-32, 15-10). With the
win, Newman advanced to the championship while gaining a 3-1 head-to-head
advantage over the Pirates this season and closing out the defending national
champs' repeat bid. Marco Rabello (15K, 5B), Walker Swan (11K), Kelvin
Bush (11K, 5B), and Gustavo Rocha (54A, 11D) led Park in the match.
Rocha was named to the All-Tournament Team.

PIRATES
COMPLETE SWEEP OF CENTRAL CHRISTIAN TIGERS  
PARKVILLE, MO--A
pair of wins on Saturday over the Central Christian College Tigers lifted Park
University to 21-18, 10-7 in the MCAC Conference. The Pirates topped the
Tigers, 10-0 and 10-5 at Comfort Field. In the first
game, Ross McCoy picked up the pitching victory behind solid hitting from Luke
Johnson (3-4) and Dusty Hylton (2-3). Hand Edwards, Dane Phillippe, Hylton
and Andy Morgan each had two RBI. In the second game, Phillippe earned the
pitching victory. Offensive support came from Robby Reed (3-3), Aaron
Courter (3-4, 2RBI) and Edwards (2B, HR, 4RBI). Park hosts College of the
Ozarks at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

FAULCONER TOSSES NO-HITTER AS
PARK TAKES THIRD IN OCU TOURNAMENT
OKLA. CITY, OKLA.--Senior pitcher Sherry Faulconer
threw a no-hitter in Park's 8-0 win against Kansas Wesleyan University on
Saturday afternoon as the Pirates took third place in the Oklahoma City
University Tournament. Earlier in the day, Park lost to Panhandle State,
2-0, then defeated Central Methodist College, 7-4.

MASONER TAKES FIRST IN JAVELIN, SETS
PARK RECORD IN HAMMER THROW
WARRENSBURG, MO--Robbie Masoner, a junior from Weston,
Mo., claimed Park's only first place score in Friday's CMSU Mule Relays.
He won the javelin throw with a distance of 179 feet, seven inches. His
mark of 152 feet, three inches established a new record at Park in the hammer
throw. Celena Bibbins and Keith Longuski secured provisional qualifying
times to the NAIA National Championships. |

SPARKS PIRATES OVER KANSAS WESLEYAN
OKLA. CITY, OKLA.--Sophomore
catcher Trista Tomasek delivered a grand slam homerun in the first
inning of Friday's 4-0 win over Kansas Wesleyan in the Oklahoma City
University Tournament. Park won the game, 4-0, bringing pitcher
Holly Gentry's record to 6-4 this season. The Pirates (11-14)
dropped games to Oklahoma Christian, 2-0, and Northwestern Oklahoma
State, 3-0.

Men's Volleyball Results
SPLIT ON FIRST DAY PROPELS PIRATES INTO NATIONAL SEMIS
WICHITA, KAN--Park University (21-7) finished second in Pool A after splitting in Friday's pool play. Park defeated Kendall College, 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-25). Marco Rabello had 12 kills and five digs to lead Park. Simon
Golola (8 kills, 3 blocks) and Gustavo Rocha (31 assists) also were
statistically productive for the Pirates. In the evening match, the Pirates fell to #1 California Baptist, 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-20). Kelvin Bush (9 kills) and Cristian Maciel (10 kills) were Park's hitting leaders. Jonathan Nino contributed seven digs. Park will face Newman University, the top team in Pool B, in the semifinal
match at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

PICKS UP WINS OVER CENTRAL CHRISTIAN FOLLOWING DELAY
PARKVILLE, MO--Park
University picked up two wins in the MCAC Conference Friday afternoon by
defeating Central Christian College, 17-6 and 5-3. Ryne
Mendez and Stanley Thresher were the winning pitchers for the Pirates;
each of them improved to 2-3 this season. In the first game, Robby
Reed led Park with two homeruns and five RBI. R.J. Nab (3-3,
4RBI), Luke Johnson (3-4), Moe Mohammed (3-3, 4RBI), Dusty Hylton (2-4),
Andy Morgan (3-3) and Hank Edwards all contributed to the Pirates'
offensive onslaught. In the second game, Adam Clay picked up a
save while pitching in relief. Nab (2-3), Dane Phillippe (2-2, HR,
2RBI) and Mohammed (1-2, 2RBI) were the standout hitters for Park in the
second contest. Park and Central Christian will play another
doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.

DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
DELAYED
PARKVILLE, MO--The baseball doubleheader scheduled for 1:00 p.m. today
at Comfort Field between Park University and Central Christian College
has been delayed. First pitch is expected to come at or shortly
after 2:00 p.m. Central Christian called ahead to report a
mechanical problem with one of the vans transporting their team to
Parkville; the games will begin as soon as possible after the team
arrives.
