LOSS AT
BELLEVUE EVENS PARK'S RECORD AT 23-23, 12-12  
BELLEVUE, NEB.--Park University and Bellevue University traded leads
four times in Wednesday's makeup contest. In the end, Bellevue
prevailed, overtaking Park on a pair of homeruns in the fifth and sixth
innings by catcher Derek Waddoups. Waddoups tied the game in the
bottom of the fifth inning with a two-run shot. In the bottom of
the sixth inning, he delivered a grand slam to seal the win for the
Bruins. For Park, R.J. Nab went 3-for-3 with two runs. Luke
Johnson and Robby Reed each connected for a homerun in the game.

Softball Results
FLAMES DEFEAT PARK TWICE,
NARROW PIRATES' PLAYOFF HOPES
PARKVILLE, MO.--College of St. Mary (Neb.) (21-19, 10-4) overpowered
Park in both games Wednesday; the losses left Park (15-19, 3-7) with just
six games remaining to challenge for a spot in the MCAC postseason.
The Flames won the contests, 2-0 and 12-5. Currently, the Pirates are the
fifth-place team in the MCAC; only four teams advance to the conference
playoffs. Park will need six wins combined with a sweep of Peru
State by Newman to gain the fourth playoff seed. Park's remaining
contests include Oklahoma Wesleyan, Central Christian, and Haskell Indian
Nations University.

Softball Results
PIRATES HOLD CARDINALS TO TWO RUNS IN DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP
PARKVILLE, MO.--Park University (15-17) picked up two wins over William
Jewell College on Tuesday afternoon in the program's Senior Day games.
Seniors Sherry Faulconer, Racheal Mead and Tiffany Bears were recognized
before the first contest, a 3-0 shutout victory for the Pirates.
Faulconer struck out eight batters in the game; sophomore Brooke Woolery
blasted a solo homerun to lift Park on offense. In the second
contest, Holly Gentry improved to 8-5 overall, picking up a 7-2 decision
over the Cardinals. Park hosts College of St. Mary in key MCAC
contests on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Golf Results
PARK FRESHMAN JOHNSON LEADS MCAC FIELD TO WIN
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
NEB. CITY, NEB.--Park University's Katie Johnson, a freshman from Overland
Park, Kan., shot a 161 to win the MCAC Conference meet and earn Player of
the Year honors in the conference. Her score was ten better than the
second-place finisher, Amber Johnson of York College who finished with a
171. Park's Johnson shot an 83 on Monday. On Tuesday, she
posted a score of 78, which included a score of 36 on the front
nine. Freshman Sarah Molina from Park finished 14th overall in the
conference. |

Baseball Results
PIRATES SPLIT NAIL-BITERS WITH COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS
PARKVILLE, MO--Park University (23-22, 12-11) stayed just above .500
following a 1-1 afternoon against College of the Ozarks. Both
games were decided by one run. Ozarks won the first game, 2-1 in
nine innings; Park rallied in the bottom of the seventh to take the
second contest, 3-2. R.J. Nab went 3-4 and scored Park's only run
in the first game. In the second game, Park's scoring rally opened
with a Hank Edwards double, followed by a single from Luke Johnson.
Dane Phillippe singled to drive in Edwards. A Lance Kraft
sacrifice bunt advanced the runners. Senior Andy Morgan's single
won the game, driving in Kirk Turpin who was pinch running for Johnson.
Adam Clay picked up his eighth pitching win of the season.

BRUINS REMAIN ATOP REGION
IV WITH WINS OVER PARK
PARKVILLE, MO.--Bellevue
University (35-11, 10-2) held on to the top position in NAIA Region IV
with a pair of wins over Park (13-17, 3-5) on Monday afternoon.
Bellevue won the first game, 5-1, behind a pair of homeruns in the last
two innings. In the second game, the Bruins defeated Park, 8-3.
Park hosts William Jewell College today at 3:00 p.m.

CRANKS TWO HOMERUNS; PIRATES SLIP TO NEWMAN  
WICHITA, KAN--Senior catcher Hank Edwards delivered his ninth and tenth
homeruns of the season, sending out one in each of Sunday's losses to
Newman University. Edwards went 6-for-8 with six RBI and two runs
in addition to the pair of homeruns. The two losses dropped Park
(22-21, 11-10) to 8-14 on the road this season; the Pirates have won 14
out of 21 games at home. Three home doubleheaders (College of the
Ozarks on Tuesday; Okla. Wesleyan on Fri.-Sat.) remain for Park.
Sophomores Dusty Hylton and Aaron Courter each had a pair of hits on
Sunday. Hylton went 2-3 in the first game; Courter was 2-4 with
two runs in the second game.

PIRATES SPLIT IN FIRST TWO GAMES OF FOUR-GAME WEEKEND SERIES
WICHITA, KAN--Following a rain delay
that pushed Park's four game series against Newman University back one day, the
two clubs split: Newman took a 10-2 win in the first game on Saturday; Park
answered with a 4-3 decision in the second game. R.J. Nab was 2-4 with two
runs in the first game; Luke Johnson hit 2-3. In the second game, ace Adam
Clay improved to 7-3. Hank Edwards (3-4), Johnson (2-3) and Travis
Cunningham (2-3, 2RBI) led the Pirates. Park (22-19, 11-8) meets Newman
again for a pair of games on Sunday.

ATEM, BIBBINS, MACKEY WIN EVENTS AT
UMKC INVITATIONAL
KANSAS CITY, MO--Senior Mabior Atem led the men's field in
the 800-meter run; he finished first with a time of one minute, 52.53
seconds. For the women, Celena Bibbins won the 400-meter hurdles in one
minute, 5.50 seconds. Reagan Mackey placed first in the 100-meter dash in
59.54 seconds.

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL GAMES
CANCELLED
PARKVILLE, MO--The baseball and softball
doubleheaders scheduled for today have been cancelled. Park baseball will make up the games
at Newman University in Wichita on Sunday. The softball games between Park
and College of St. Mary have not been rescheduled.
