Created by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Park University, The Best Practices Institute offers easily-accessible, self-paced online modules on teaching and learning topics relevant to higher education faculty. 

The Institute reflects the University’s commitment to promoting “access to academic excellence” by supporting faculty in their continued innovation and reflective practice.  Each module emphasizes the application of theory to practice.

Faculty who wish to receive a formal certificate of completion for their portfolio and annual review may complete an “Application Project” identified at the conclusion of each module.  The “Application Project” allows faculty to share their teaching strategies and curriculum.

Accessing the Best Practices Institute:

The Best Practices Institute may be accessed with a Park University faculty ID and OPEN password.  Access to the online modules is unlimited and each module can be reviewed repeatedly. 

Once you enter the Institute, a user account feature allows you to bookmark favorite modules, organize, and record your successful completion of modules.  We recommend completing no more than two modules per year to allow time for application of the material to your scholarly teaching.
