Effective May 1, 2012, the Portfolio Program will no longer accept new application.

The Portfolio Plan is an individualized degree completion program for self-motivated adults who wish to earn a baccalaureate degree without giving up full-time employment. It is particularly applicable to those adults whose job or personal responsibilities preclude attending classes in the traditional manner. The program is designed to serve students in close proximity to Kansas City.

Portfolio applicants submit official college transcripts, a detailed resume, and documentation of any military or job related training. Evaluation takes place and credit may be awarded for experiential learning as well as for prior college credit(s). Students work with a faculty advisor to determine their educational goals. Coursework is completed by individual study tutorials (face to face in a one hour/per week format) and/or by formal classroom work.

Portfolio Terms of Enrollment

The Portfolio term of enrollment begins on the 16th of the month and continues until the last day of that month immediately prior to the beginning of the academic term. Students wishing to enter the program will begin during the first week of the month that follows their acceptance into the program.

If the student finds it necessary to withdraw from the program, the refund policy is consistent with the most recent university catalog.
