Department of Art, Design and Theatre

Facilities

Our studio classroom suites include a state-of-the-art Macintosh graphic design lab with 16 workstations, AutoCAD lab with 12 workstations, free standing ceramics and fiber studio building, art history taught in a “smart” classroom, drafting studio, materials lab, expansive painting and drawing studio overlooking the Missouri River, Parkville and the Kansas City, Missouri, skyline, and our Campanella Gallery offering a year-round cycle of exhibitions by regional professional artists and our graduating seniors.

Small class sizes and 24-hour studio access promote good student-teacher relationships and schedule flexibility. Senior year internship opportunities in professional settings give practical work experience and ease the transition to the world beyond graduation. Park University participates in KCASE (Kansas City Area Student Exchange) which allows qualified students to take one course per semester at another area college or university, including the Kansas City Art Institute.
