Meet your Admissions Staff
Meet Your Admissions DirectorsCathy Colapietro, Director of Admissionscathy.colapietro@park.edu Hello future Park University students! My name is Cathy Colapietro, and I am the Director of Admissions and Student Financial Services at Park University. I have worked in the financial aid field for twenty-five years, and have been part of the Admissions team for the past two years. I truly enjoy working in this area of higher education, particularly having the opportunity to assist students in making their dream of a college education a reality. As far as my part in the Admissions process, I spend most of my time simply trying to keep up with the enthusiastic and energetic Admissions team we have assembled here. For those of you who have had the opportunity to meet any of them, I am sure you know what I mean. I graduated from Park University with a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree in May, 2006. I can tell you from personal experience that Park University is an excellent school with a challenging curriculum and diversity in the classroom that adds another dimension to your educational experience. My husband, Vito, also works in the higher education field as a professor of Economics. We have four children, Vito, Angela, Doug, and Andrea. They are all grown and living on their own. We also have two beautiful grandchildren, Ava and Sophie. We love to travel and we enjoy open-wheel racing and Chiefs football. We hope you decide to visit campus and get to know the "Admissions team" in person. Meet Your Regional Admissions Coordinators
Gina Mumpower-Turner, Admissions Counselorgina.turner@park.edu
First of all, thank you for taking time to check out our website and for considering Park University as an option for your post-secondary education! Most generally, I am the transfer coordinator for Park University. I visit 2-year schools, hoping to speak to potential students who are interested in pursuing their bachelor's degree in the near future. Although I primarily speak to transfer students, I will be MORE than happy to speak to anyone who is interested in attending Park University. Feel free to call me at 816-584-6218. You can set up an appointment with me, and I'll show you around our awesome campus. In 1998 I graduated from Liberty Senior High School and in the fall of 2002 I graduated from Missouri Western State College (now university) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a minor in Music. I began my career here at Park University in October of 2003 and truly enjoy helping our students. I do play the Bassoon and enjoy it greatly! I began playing the flute when I was in the 6th grade, and I switched to the Bassoon in the 8th grade. I have been playing it ever since. I tend to think that the instrument has a personality of its own, but I guess that is what makes playing it so interesting. Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of our "virtual campus visit." Again, if you have any question or problems, please don't hesitate to give me a call. I am here to help YOU in anyway that I can! Shaun Pfannenstiel, Regional Admissions Coordinatorshaun.pfannenstiel@park.edu
My formal title is Regional Admissions Coordinator; however, you may call me Shaun. I have the distinct privilege of meeting with students in classrooms and college fairs around the country. I also get to build solid relationships with teachers, counselors, and other faculty members in rural, urban, and suburban high schools. I graduated from Truman High School ('97) in Independence, Missouri. I received my B.A. in Interpersonal Communications and Public Speaking from UMKC in 2001. I have been at Park University for almost three years, and I would love to share my wisdom on the large university setting versus the smaller university setting. For starters, did you know that Park University students are part of a large family? That means if you decide to become a Park Pirate, you are officially a part of our family! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife, April, embracing my Christian faith, playing sports, and watching The Office! If you want to talk about sports, The Office, or anything pertaining to your future at Park University, I'd be happy to listen. Make Park University your home away from home! Just call the Park University A-Team! Ozzie T. Greene, Regional Admissions Coordinatorozzie.greene@park.edu

Meet your Admissions Specialists
Aigul MarlerAigul.marler@park.edu
My name is Aigul Marler. I was born and raised in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is a country in west central Asia. My country was a part of the Soviet Union for almost 70 years and it gained its independence in 1991. I earned my BA in Elementary Education and minor in music from my country. I taught children in grades 1 through 4 for three years before I decided to come to America. Later, I attended State Fair Community College in Jefferson City, Missouri. I joined Park University as an Admissions Specialist in October of 2003. I perform a variety of duties, some of which include the receipt of official documents. I ensure that they are scanned into our online document system for others to review. I like my job and the people I work with. Working at Park University is fun because I've met many people and have made many friends from a variety of countries. When you decide to take a tour of our campus, please visit our Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel. Weddings used to be held there because of its beautiful architecture and gorgeous design. My husband and I chose it for our wedding and all of our family members and close friends still exclaim of how wonderful our wedding was. For me it was a very special experience. Since that time, Park has discontinued weddings in this chapel. My husband and I now have a beautiful daughter named Brianna. She loves it when we take her for a ride or for a walk. I can hardly wait until she begins talking. And of course, she keeps me very busy, but I've found motherhood to be both interesting and amazing. It's always hard to find the time to do everything that I enjoy but I do try to fit in the time for my favorite hobbies such as cooking, reading, traveling and shopping. I also love camping and especially in the fall because the weather is so beautiful and the air is so fresh. My love for nature works well with my life here on campus. We are very fortunate to be surrounded by much natural beauty on campus as well as in the surrounding Parkville area. We have many trees, sloping hills and the beauty of the Missouri River flowing by. I am sure that after visiting our wonderful campus, you will decide to attend our university because there will be no better place to study! Leticia Cortez, Admissions SpecialistLeticia.cortez@park.edu
I welcome all of you to Park University. I hope you decide to become a part of our diverse family, where you don't have to travel far to experience different cultures from all corners of the world! This is one of the reasons I personally love Park University. My name is Leticia Cortez, I am an Admissions Specialist; I am responsible for processing applications and assisting in many other duties. I am also a current student at Park University. I am originally from El Salvador in Central America. I came to America along with my little sister about twelve years ago. My family and I lived in Lathrop, Missouri for about 6 years and then moved to Kansas City where I finished high school at North Kansas City High School. Upon graduating from high school, I immediately began my journey at Park University to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, but then I decided to take a break and got married. My husband is also from El Salvador, and at the moment we are in the process of buying our first home. I can hardly wait until the day we move and begin redecorating so that we can make it our own. In my spare time, which is not very often, I enjoy painting, sewing, listening to music, watching movies and traveling. Which very recently, I got the opportunity to visit my family members in El Salvador for the first time in twelve years. Thank you for taking the time to get to know the admissions team. Enjoy the rest of the virtual tour! Erica Burleson, Admissions Specialisteburleson@park.edu

Our Admissions team is excited to help students who are interested in bettering themselves through higher education. I am originally from Niagara Falls, New York and had the pleasure to live in many places around our beautiful country. My father is retired military so; our family was well traveled by the time we settled down in the Midwest. I earned my BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2000. I then worked as an apprentice at the Locust Street Gallery. As much as I love being in the studio I have decided to continue my education here at Park University to acquire my MAT. I have a 4 year old boy that has an endless amount of energy. We enjoy fishing, camping, riding bikes, going to high school football games and blowing bubbles together.
