Tipton Award 2011 - Ken Smith, '94, MBA '08


The Tipton Award is presented by the Student Senate to honor an alumna or alumnus who has made an outstanding service contribution to Park University.  It was endowed by Mary Lou and Bill Tipton, both class of 1928.

Ken Smith, '94, MBA '08

Smith is a true fan of the Park Pirates. His most significant service to the Park students is as a founding member of Pirate Athletic Club. He served as the secretary and is the current president of this booster organization. He has been instrumental in membership drives and organizing events to promote Park athletics and the University in general, such as the pre-game fan events for the NAIA National Championship Tournaments when the basketball team qualified. He also has worked to raise funds for use in student programs.

Professionally Smith is a real estate broker with Keller Williams, Gladstone, Mo. He is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, working primarily in Platte County.  His son, Cameron (Kincaid), is a 2009 graduate of Park University.
