Admission Requirements The candidate athletic training student must complete the core requirements prior to being officially accepted into the program. The core requirements are: completion of 60 observational hours, Introduction to Athletic Training I and II, First Aid and Emergency Cardiac Care, Human Anatomy and Physiology, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher as well as submit all official application materials to the athletic training department by April 1st. Once all application materials are submitted, candidate athletic training students will have a formal interview with the athletic training faculty. Performance during the first 60 observational hours will be very important in the candidate selection process. Depending on the availability of clinical sites, a maximum of 15 qualified applicants could be selected per year. There are no guarantees for program admission even if all of the necessary requirements are completed.
