Cheyenne is the capital of Wyoming and the largest city in the state, with nearly 100,000 people in the metro area. Located in the southeast corner of the state at the apex of a major transportation hub, Cheyenne is a modern city with strong ties to its rugged roots and Old West spirit.
Cheyenne is home to a number of unique attractions and events. One of the most popular events is Cheyenne Frontier Days, a well-known festival held in July that brings in over 200,000 guests per year. This 10-day western celebration includes a PBR rodeo, parades, a carnival, pancake breakfasts, and an air show. But Cheyenne still has a lot to offer during the other 355 days of the year. Learn about the history of the railroad at the Cheyenne Depot, admire herds of roaming buffalo at the Terry Bison Ranch, grab some authentic cowboy gear at one of the local western shops, or take in the scenery on a guided trail ride. And when you're all tuckered out from your busy day, you can relax while you grab a tasty meal and a cold drink at one of the many restaurants and bars in town.
