NETWORK CONNECT - NONPROFIT SHADOW DAY

Shadow Day is a two-part day that helps college students gain exposure to the nonprofit sector and make contacts with nonprofit professionals.

 

* Part One - Breakfast and panel discussion (7:45 - 9:45 a.m.)  A panel made up of nonprofit sector professionals will discuss their careers and the work they are doing now.  This is a great opportunity to learn about different jobs that are available in the nonprofit sector.

* Part Two - Shadow a nonprofit professional "on the job" (10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)  See what a work day in the nonprofit sector is like by spending it with a nonprofit professional.  This experience also offers a great opportunity to make networking connections with professionals working in the Kansas City area. 

 

Shadow Day is open to any college student who would like to learn more about working in the nonprofit sector.  There is no fee to participate

KU CAREER FAIR

Open to the public. Dress professionally, bring copies of your resume and network with area employers.

This is a great opportunity for all job seekers, full-time, part-time and internship candidates, as well as soon-to-be graduates.

COSMC INTERVIEW DAY

KCI Expo Center

Open to all 2009 to 2010 grads and Alums (and current students with Junior status for limited internship opportunities.)

This is a one-day event sponsored by 7 area colleges.

Employers conduct 20 minute interviews with potential candidates.

Each school has a limited number of openings per company vacancy.

STUDENT ON-LINE SIGN UP DATES : Students will be able to view job listings and make selections between 1/20/10 and 2/15/10.  The last date to select/rank positions is 2/15/10.  Schedules will be available on 2/18/10.

Important Information--Please read the following policies carefully. Due to the complexity of the scheduling process among students from 9 colleges/universities, the following guidelines apply.

§       DO NOT SIGN UP UNLESS YOU WILL ACCEPT INTERVIEWS AT ANY TIME DURING THE DAY AND WITH ANY COMPANY YOU SELECT

§       RANK ORDER YOUR CHOICES BY FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, ETC.

§       SIGN UP FOR ONLY ONE POSITION PER COMPANY (You may discuss other opportunities at the time of your interview.)

§       SEND YOUR RESUME VIA E-MAIL TO Layne Prenger to complete the sign-up.

§       RESERVE THE ENTIRE DAY (2-23-10) FOR INTERVIEWING AS TIMES SELECTED ARE COMPUTER GENERATED AND ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE.

§       You may enter and exit the program to make changes or additions in your selections until February 15th.

§       You will receive an email of your schedule once all registrations have been received.

§       You will be receiving your interview schedule and information about the event after February 18th.  Please check your email prior to February 23rd for any updates or changes.

PARK UNIVERSITY MOCK INTERVIEW DAY

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Park University - Parkville Campus

 

Students are invited to sharpen their resume and interviewing skills with Mock Interview Day.  Each participant will interview with 2 companies to gain exposure to different interviewing styles. The interviews will last 30 minutes each for a total of a 1 hour time commitment.  The first 20 minutes will be the interview and the last 10 minutes will be a feedback session on overall appearance, dress, resume, interviewing style and responses.     The interview day is open to Park University students  There is a limited number of interview slots available, so please contact Traci Klasing if interested in participating.
