Purpose

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Faculty Advisory Council offers recommendations for university-wide professional enhancement resources to support the professional vitality of full-time and adjunct faculty members of the Park University community. 

Mission

The mission of the CETL Faculty Advisory Council is to make recommendations that promote faculty vitality, professional enhancement, and university-wide collegiality.

CETL Goals

  •  Connect faculty with resources to enhance academic excellence.
  1. Promote a culture of reflective teaching practice to stimulate instructional innovation.
  2. Create opportunities for cross-disciplinary faculty collaboration and exchange.
  3. Recognize and reward faculty contributions to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Strategies for 2009-2010

  • To appoint a campus faculty advisory council whose membership includes representation from all segments of the disciplines.
  • To encourage Advisory Council members to serve as a liaison between faculty in their School/College and CETL.
  • To review current research and best practices for faculty development, as well as exemplary models and programs to support faculty work.
  • To review campus practices in the context of faculty development and make recommendations for improvement.
  • To prioritize preliminary recommendations for implementation feasibility and budgetary purposes.
  • To review and select Instructional Innovation Grant Award recipients.
  • To implement the prioritized recommendations based upon approvals and budgetary allocations.  The recommendations include efforts focused in these specified areas: Faculty Enhancement, Faculty Recognition, Faculty Exchange.
