BACKGROUND: |
Jolene A. Lampton Regional Academic Director & Assistant Professor of Management/Accounting
PROBLEM OR OPPORTUNITY: |
My class (AC435) Ethics for Accountants is an online upper-division accounting class in the study of ethics. I am implementing extensive case study methodology in the discussion of ethical case studies.
I am trying to facilitate discussion of ethical dilemmas. |
ASSIGNMENT, ACTIVITY, COURSE INNOVATION: |
I designed an assignment to emphasize the strategy of “asking the right questions at the right time”—that is, to emphasize the point that dating and relationships should not be allowed in audit firms. I revised the questions to be asked in a “Lessons Learned” assignment. |
STUDENT PERFORMANCE: |
My revised questions will be utilized in future classes. |
REFLECTION |
I feel my strategy will indeed get to the point more quickly—something that multi-generational learners appreciate.
