Enrollment Classes are open to civilian and military students who are high school graduates (or GED) with the desire and scholarly ability for college level academic achievement. Park University Park Distance Learning denies no one admission on the basis of race, sex, religion, handicap, marital status, or politics. Student Eligibility The Completion of an Application for Admission and Evaluation form and payment of appropriate fees and evidence of high school completion is needed. (Refer to the current catalog for further information.) Park University is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action school and a member of the Service Members Opportunity University Network. Transfer Credits Park University accepts and records transfer credits for degree candidates only. We do not accept transfer of credits carrying a grade of D, F, I, W, WP, WF, or classes considered remedial in nature. Excepting the foregoing restriction, Park will accept transfer credit toward degree requirements from institutions of higher learning accredited by the six regional accrediting associations when such credit is in keeping with the basic philosophy of the University. Residency Requirements For a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) - Completion of 30 earned and graded PARK hours. At least 12 of the 30 must be in the MAJOR core. All students pursuing a "SECOND Bachelor's DEGREE" (or more) with PARK must complete ADDITIONAL residency requirements - an ADDITIONAL 30 hours with 12 hours needed in the core. Students may pursue dual degrees if such degrees are approved and readily available at the student's campus center of record. A student may declare a double major at the time of request of an evaluation by submitting a Declaration of Major form or an Application for Admission and Evaluation. Note for veteran benefits recipients: Dual Objective Programs, requiring more hours than a standard degree, which are reasonably related to a single career field may be pursued by veterans. The student shall file a statement pertaining to his/her 'career field of pursuit' showing the relatedness of the objectives that is approved by school officials. The programs of pursuit must be approved by the State Approving Agency of jurisdiction in which the campus presides. Contact your Veterans Affairs representative on campus for more information. Registration Students must register in person for Campus courses during the assigned 4 week registration period. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No special handling or reservations are granted. Courses will be closed when maximum capacity is reached; however, waiting lists are kept for all Online courses. Park University at the Charleston Campus Center reserves the right to cancel any course. All prerequisites must be met prior to enrollment in any course. Previous balances must be paid in full prior to registration. Online Registration Online pre-registration is now available to Online students. You may visit the Park University web page for Online registration information. However, you will not be confirmed for enrollment in any course until payment has been made (or guaranteed by a third party such as for TA). Payments may be made online. NOTE: Any students who have not been confirmed for enrollment prior to the Monday before the beginning of each semester will be dropped from class/es that semester. Graduates Students completing the last 12 semester hours or less must complete the application for diploma. Please contact the Charleston Campus Center office for additional information. Refund Policy Park University assumes the responsibility of providing instruction throughout the term. In the refund policy begins the first day of class. The student will be refunded 90% of tuition if he/she decides to drop during the first week. (Refer to the current catalog for further information.) Students must present written notification of drop or withdrawal. Course Overload Requests Full-time class load is six (6) credit hours for an eight-week accelerated term. A student may enroll in no more than six (6) hours per term in an accelerated program without prior approval. If you wish to enroll for more than six (6) credit hours, you must request each term, in writing, to do so. Minimal qualifications are: returning student status and a 3.25 or greater GPA. Registration and payment will not be accepted for courses in excess of six (6) hours until the request has been approved. This applies to Campus courses, Online courses and combinations of Campus and Online courses. | |
