SO326 - Sociology Conflict, War, Terror

Course Description: Surveys the conditions under which conflicts arise escalate, and are resolved or erupt into open hostility. Examines the social functions and consequences of warfare, including its relation to political, cultural, and economic concerns, and its affects on combatants. Traces the reasons for terrorism and its rise from the 20th century onward, including its connections to globalization and the global community. Prerequisite: SO 141 or Instructor consent (From catalog 2007-2008)
