Course Description: ED619 Multi-cultural Literature for Teachers: A seminar focused upon literature emerging from various American minority cultures with emphasis upon the teaching of such literature in elementary, middle, and secondary schools. All though there is an attempt to expose students to a wide variety of works, authors, and cultures, certain groups (e.g., African-American, Hispanic, Native American) are prominent and major authors(e.g., Toni Morrison, N. Scott Momaday, Maxine Hong Kingston are emphasized. Each student produces a research paper and a teaching package.
