The English Department Comprehensive Examinations represent a test of the candidate’s breadth of preparation for the Bachelor’s degree. The date deadlines for applying to sit for examinations will be posted at the department website each semester. All deadlines will be strictly followed.
Students are advised to complete the exams one to two semesters prior to graduation but only after successfully completing EN307 and EN380. Reading lists will be made available in a timely manner. English/literature majors select three lists, one from each of the literature comprehensive exam areas; English/writing majors select three lists, one from any of the literature exam areas and two from each of the writing exam areas.
