Senior Examinations
All majors must pass a three-hour written comprehensive examination in English language and literature, covering one period in English literature, one in American, and a third area. A one-hour oral examination follows the written examination: it is conducted by members of the English Department and may include one other faculty member. The student must pass both examinations. Students who fail either or both parts must retake the examinations in the next semester. |
