Dr. Josephine C. Agnew-Tally, Dean, School for EducationDr. Agnew-Tally has had over 20 years of public school teaching experience in early childhood education, early intervention, elementary inclusion, and special education (BD, LD, MR) classrooms. She has had administrative experience as a Special Education Director, Title I Director, State Department Consultant, Coordinator of Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education Programs, Director of a university Child Development Center and Laboratory, and currently serves as the Dean of the School for Education for Park University. Dr. Agnew-Tally has helped to secure over five million dollars in state and federal grants and has published on topics related to early childhood education, special education, assistive technology, diversity, and early childhood equity. Her tenure in higher education started in 1988. During that time, Dr. Agnew-Tally's research agenda has included work on the socialization of elementary school teachers, teacher education, teacher research, early childhood equity and policies, technology, and diversity. Dr. Agnew-Tally served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has served or been appointed to state and/or national leadership roles in Phi Delta Kappa, CEC, DEC, NAEYC, and AERA. The Most Rewarding Experience as the Dean of the School for EducationSo far, the most rewarding experience has been that Park University has given me the honor of serving as Dean of the School for Education. In this role, I have the great opportunity to serve and work with the students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders of the School for Education at Park University. About the School for Education at Park UniversityAs of 2007, the School for Education at Park University celebrates 96 years of academic excellence in teacher education! Many of the first graduates of Park University chose to be missionaries and teachers. Twenty-two exemplary faculty now serve the School for Education in these eight certification areas. Preparing effective school professionals, who are both reflective change agents and advocates for equity and excellence, is the major focus at Park University's School for Education.
