Meet Diana

My name is Diana Kilbarger and I graduated from Park in 1986. Because of the accessibility of Park I was able to obtain a college degree. Today, I want to ensure other students have that same opportunity.

From the time I was a little girl, I wanted to go to college. I vividly remember Mrs. Star, my first grade teacher, encouraging me to do my best and to make education a top priority in my life. I believed the only way to change my future was to continue my education.

My family had very few resources, so as I got older I knew I had to make my own opportunities or there would be no possibility of attending college. At the age of 16 I joined the Air Force, began active duty at 17, and served my country for more than six years.

Park University had a campus center on the Blytheville Air Force Base where I was stationed. Park was accessible for me and financial assistance was made available, so the transition to college was natural and easy. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management which has allowed me to pursue the dream of owning my own business. After graduation I had multiple jobs, gaining valuable skills that I would later use along with the knowledge I gained in the classroom to develop my business idea. In 2010, my dreams came true when I established a business providing in-home care for the elderly.

I strongly believe that my experience at Park University has given me the opportunity to have a better life. The cost of education can be a barrier for many students and Park was very good to me, so I believe it is my responsibility to help others. Recently, I decided to direct my annual donation to student scholarships. Each year I choose to give back to Park so that other students can have the access to education as I did many years ago. If we each give a little we will make a big impact together. In this way we pay it forward, passing on the gift of education.

Today I ask that you join me. Would you support student scholarships with a gift of $20, $30, $40 or more?

Thank you for giving back to the University that gave us all so much!
