This program will prepare IT Security Professionals and Information Systems Security Officers in the private and public sectors to:

  • Design a network and computer infrastructure for an organization while considering security issues and controls.
  • Recognize security incidents and implement remedies, controls, and fixes using appropriate technologies and policies.
  • Design security remedies, controls, and fixes for next generation network services such as Voice over IP (VoIP), video, presence, multi protocol label switching (MPLS), and Instant Messaging (IM) services.
  • Address application security issues affecting the areas of data management, programming, operating systems, and Web applications/services.

The subject matter covered under the CNS Certificate Program falls within the framework of the (ISC)˛ Common Body of Knowledge, a collection of topics relevant to information systems security professionals and used to assess the level of mastery required to obtain professional certifications like the CISSP® (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).

Furthermore, the CNS Certificate Program is currently undergoing a rigorous process to certify its courseware under the National Security Agency’s recognized National Training Standard for Information Systems Security Professionals, NSTISSI 4011.
