Business-Government Relations

The Master of Public Affairs degree with the Business-Government Relations concentration enhances understanding of the business environment, providing preparation for careers in managing corporate and business relations with governmental, social, and political publics. This concentration also provides preparation for a wide variety of areas, including different levels of organizations.

  • Describe the role of business firms in society and in the American democracy.
  • Analyze ethical problems in management.
  • Differentiate the private enterprise system in the United States from other economic systems, and identify theoretical roots of the private enterprise system.
  • Distinguish between macroeconomic issues and microeconomic issues and their related impacts and consequences.

3. Developing Human Resources (PA 575) 2 hrs.
4. Global Environment of Business (PA 576) 2 hrs.
5. Principles of Public Relations (PA 578) 2 hrs.
6. Corporate Finance: Concepts and Strategies (PA 579) 2 hrs.
Substitution for BGR Electives, up to two credit hours; additional hours are added under cross-sector courses*: 6 hrs.
