Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Advising Tips
- Please be aware that there are four 16-week courses (five if you do the MIS concentration), which are:
- AC515-Managerial Accounting
- FI615-Managerial Finance
- EC604-Managerial Economics
- MG695-Business Policy and Strategy
The remainder are 8-week courses. The 16-week courses are all offered each fall and spring term and the 8-week courses have a high probability of being offered at least once in the fall and spring term and some again in the summer.
- Students, if you do not see a course on the schedule that you would like to take, please do not hesitate to contact the MBA office and request for it to be included on the schedule.
- Courses that are good to start off with:
- It is not recommended to take AC515 and FI615 concurrently, but in different terms.
- MG695 should be one of your last courses and it is highly recommended to take MG620 and MG632 before this course.
CNS and MIS Concentration Tips
- If you are doing the CNS or MIS concentration, then please direct any questions or concerns regarding the courses to Sister Dr. Barbara Kushan at
barbara.kushan@park.edu.
- CNS area order is:
- IS620*
- CSS636
- CSS656
- CSS688
*prerequisite for this course is either IS603, CS365 or comparable course in undergraduate work, or relevant work experience.
- MIS tips:
- There is no real order to taking the courses, except that you will need to take IS603, CS365 or comparable course in undergraduate work with a “B” or better, or have relevant work experience, before taking IS620
Healthcare Concentration Tips
- If you are doing the Health Care/ Health Services Management Concentration, then please direct any questions or concerns regarding the courses to Dr. Sherry Fontaine at
sherry.fontaine@park.edu.
- Students can take the HC concentration courses in any order they want with the exception of HA 520 (which is now HA 620). This is the capstone course and should be taken near the end of their masters program.
*Any other concerns regarding the MBA program and courses can be directed to Dr. Nicolas Koudou, MBA Director, at akoudou@park.edu.
*Please note that any recommendations made are strictly for the benefit of the student. However, the student is ultimately responsible for the schedule that they create and any ensuing consequences.
