Each year all HN302 junior and senior level students and their mentors meet with members of the Honors and Scholarship Committee, which is chaired by the Director of the Honors Program. The purpose of the meeting is to allow you to discuss the status of your research projects with committee members. The committee members may use the occasion to supply feedback and direction for you, suggesting changes and/or additions to the project. A written assessment will also be presented to during the following week. Guests may be invited, and various administrators and faculty stop by to learn more about your projects! Mentors, please discuss your preferred day and time for your student’s 15 minute presentation. I will complete a schedule by April 13.
If you are enrolled in your initial semester of HN302, you will present a narrative summary that describes the project and progress made since the project’s inception that also includes a list of a minimum of 10 sources (these may be prospective interviews and other primary sources as well as print sources). Please email your narrative to me at virginia.brackett@park.edu by April 10. You narrative should contain a working project title, your name, your status (junior, senior), and your mentor’s name. You may also show a representation of the project. The project representation may be a written excerpt and/or power point, photographs, artwork, etc. also submit a list of references used in their research thus far. They are required to e-mail the project narrative to the committee chairperson at least one week prior to presentation
If you are enrolled in your second semester of HN302 you will present a representation of the project in addition to a narrative summary that describes the project and progress made since the last update. Progress should be evident. You will also include a list of all sources. Your narrative should contain a working project title, your name, your status (junior, senior), and your mentor’s name. Please email your narrative to me at virginia.brackett@park.edu by April 10. You must also show a representation of the project. The project representation may be a written excerpt from a creative project that you will read aloud and/or power point, photographs, artwork, etc.
