We are pleased to announce that Park has finalized our health insurance renewal with United Health Care effective February 1, 2007.  An outline of the HMO and the POS plans as well as some other useful information is found on this page.  

The open enrollment period will be from January 18 to January 25, 2007.  Park University will continue to offer the HMO and Point of Service (POS) plans.  The HMO does not require a referral if you use an in-network doctor or specialist.  Any doctor outside of the network will not be covered.  The POS will allow you to use an out of network doctor.  If you wish to switch from HMO to POS or from POS to HMO, or to discontinue coverage, you must do so during this period only.  Also, if you do not currently have health insurance through Park University and would like to enroll yourself and any dependents, you must do so during this time. 

Nationwide, health insurance rates have gone up more than 14%.  In an effort to keep insurance rates down without significantly changing our health plan, the following plan changes will go into effect February 1, 2007:

Employees are encouraged to go to the United Health Care website at www.myuhc.com to get a list of providers and to access other helpful information regarding United Health Care. 

As an important employee benefit, Park University helps our employees defray a significant portion of the cost of health insurance.  The following health insurance rates will be effective February 1, 2007:
