Bitenouwe Barkola
Hometown: Lome

Bitenouwe describes his community:

I am originally from Kara which is situated in the north part of Togo, but my family relocated to the capital city. Because I live in the capital city, life is more like a city life. We have some beautiful buildings.  Taking public taxis for transportation is the best, they take you from point A to point B faster. Because the city is always busy, you find lots of businesses from small to big, lots of people walking up and down the streets of Lome. There are lots of activities which are commonly done in my city by people for relaxing and having fun: taking walks at the beach is my favorite, going out with friends to the movies, dancing, clubbing, and sometimes fishing.  In addition every weekend I usually play soccer or watch soccer. During the week most people do their occupation, work, school, etc. The best thing I like about my city is the ability to communicate and socialize with people in the streets at all times, the noise that is made by children who are playing on the streets.

Being at Park University makes me feel so fortunate because I have met a lot of different people who come all over the world and some of them come from a similar community as I am.  Others come from totally different communities. Park University rocks!
