Sherzod Ibragimov
Born: Andijan
Sherzod describes his community:
As
I was born and raised in Andijan, I lived there all my life until I moved to
Park University. Andijan is a very peaceful community full of people who love
one another. You will find people walking up and down the street, some just
sitting around. In my community most people are always busy working hard to make
a living. As most people there are Muslim, many people are very devoted to the
religion. Like most places around the world people work five days a week, but
Friday is a most important day for my community to pray, so Friday is a day for
worshiping our God. Communal living is part of our culture. However I cannot
pass a person without greeting them, but there are rules in our greeting system
like: I as a man am not allowed to hand shake a female when I greet them.
Also my community has some community parks which are a very beautiful where some
of people like to spend time relaxing in, having picnics, and just socializing.
There is a community organization for young people who participate in different
community activities. This is where they meet and discuss different issues about
life.
There are also community bars and pubs where people go and hangout with friends.
There is also a community museum where you will find anything you can look for
about Andijan's history. Finally we have our unique dishes that my people
specialize in making and they are to die for!
