Uzbek pianist Gulrukh Shakirova graduated with honors from Uspensky
Special Music School in Tashkent. She continued her education at The
State Conservatory of Uzbekistan where she graduated with bachelor’s
degree in piano performance with honors.
Shakirova has received various awards including: first prize, Republican
Piano Competition, Uzbekistan 1999; third prize, 50th International
Piano Competition “Nena Wideman”, U.S. 2000; second prize, Seventh
International Piano Competition by Nikolai Rubinstein, France 2004; the
laureate of festival “Days of the international meeting of the young
musicians” in Moscow 1994.
In addition to being the recipient of several prizes and diplomas in
composition at the competitions for creative youth of Uzbekistan,
Shakirova received the President State scholarship in Uzbekistan in the
field “Culture and art” in 2002.
