Mission and Curriculum

To train the next generation of accomplished musicians in a focused and creative atmosphere with an international faculty of renowned excellence.

Curriculum

  1. Applied Lesson
    Accepted students may attend conveniently schedule classes on weekdays, late afternoons, evenings and Saturdays. Students are encouraged to take 2 lessons a week to develop their most potential.
  2. Annual Gala Concert
    At the conclusion of the spring semester, selected students will perform at the Conservatory’s annual Gala Concert.
  3. YCM Monthly Recital Series
    All Youth Conservatory students are required to play more than once at the Monthly Recital Series, which is scheduled on the first (piano) and second (string) Saturday of the month throughout the year. All students are invited to attend all recitals.
    Fall 2006
    October 14, 2006 (3:00 pm) at Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel (combined recital)
    November 4, 2006 (3:00 pm) at Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel (piano)
    November 11, 2006 (3:00 pm) at Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel (string)
    December 3, 2006 (3:00 pm) at Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel (combined recital)
  4. Music Theory/Literature Curriculum
    YCM offers five different levels of music theory/literature classes without an additional fee for students who are taking applied lessons (students are responsible for purchasing their own textbook).
