Students Recognized for Success in IBM's Master the Mainframe Contest 2009

The 2009 IBM Master the Mainframe Contest drew over 3,000 students from 425 schools across the US and Canada. Four Park students received recognition from IBM for their accomplishments.

ICS Students Participate in ACM Mid-Central Region Programming Contest

Students in Park University's Information and Computer Science Department participated in the annual Association for Computing Machinery Mid-Central Region Programming Contest on October 27st 2009. A total of 10 teams participated, three each from Park, Northwest Missouri State University, the University of Central Missouri, plus one team from UMKC. During the contest, teams wrote computer programs to correctly solve as many problems as possible within five hours.

Park "Pirate" won first place at the site, solving 4 of the 9 problems. The team members are Leonardo Sa, Luis Aleman, and Nodirbek Hojimatov. Team Blackbeard: Austin Honeycutt-Otte, Daniel Bonebrake, and Mohammad Shamim solved 2 problems.
