Bruce Feiler is coming to Village Presbyterian Church. Mr.
Feiler will incorporate observations from his recent
best-seller, America’s Prophet: Moses and the American Story.
He will include themes of the challenge, importance, and
benefits of interfaith understanding in a rapidly shrinking
world.
Wednesday, October 20
Bruce Feiler will participate in an informal discussion with the
students at Notre Dame de Sion High School in the morning.

Voicing the Spiritual Self: The Language of Doubt and Belief
The Writers Place and the Festival of Faiths present a
multifaceted reading by a diverse group of Kansas City authors
as they share, in poetry and prose, their inner pilgrimages.
Featuring a broad spectrum of spiritual geography, these writers
will invite you into their personal stories of doubt and/or
belief. Join us at The Writer's Place, 3607 Pennsylvania, Kansas
City, MO. Suggested donation: $5.00

"The Hindu and the Cowboy" will be performed in the Truman
Forum, Plaza Library.
Monday, November 8
"The Hindu and the Cowboy" Kansas City's one-act play inspired
by true stories of people from many faith traditions. Truman
Forum, Plaza Library, exact time to be announced. Following a
short reception at the close of the play, the audience is
invited to stay for a 30-minute staged reading of new stories.

Vital Conversations - Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of
Three Faiths by Bruce Feiler. Mid Continent Public Library,

“Fremont, U.S.A. - A City’s Encounter with Religious
Diversity” (7:00 p.m.) - Free showing of an acclaimed film about
Fremont, California, one of the most culturally and religiously
diverse towns in the country, follows the experiences of its
citizens, as they learn about each other and find ways to live
and grow together, particularly in dealing with the murder of a
Muslim woman after 9/11 and the ramifications of that crime. A
discussion following the film will relate the message of
Fremont, U.S.A. to the Kansas City environment and life in
today’s diverse community. Location: Plaza Library, 4801 Main,
