Discovering America's Heartland Summer Cultural Program*** Please note: This program is suspended until further notice. *** Dear prospective applicant for Discovering America’s Heartland, Congratulations! You are about to participate in an exciting program that will give you the opportunity to learn first-hand about life in the United States from the true center – the Heart of America, Kansas City, Missouri. During your two-week stay in this vibrant city, you will experience American people, food, music, sports, holidays, festivals, shopping and more! The dates of this innovative and unique program are July 20-August 4, 2009. Please plan to arrive on July 20. We will not be able to accommodate you before this date. Your departure date from the U.S. should be August 4. If you plan to take advantage of the Washington, D.C. extension, your departure date from the U.S. is August 8. You will not receive college credit for participating in this program. However, you will have ample opportunities to practice your English language skills. Our team will organize daily activities and programs to entertain and educate you. There is a minimum age of 14 years to participate in the program. Additionally, we require one adult chaperone per ten students. Please be aware of the following deadlines. We cannot make exceptions for these dates. June 15
