Study Abroad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Pontific Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) is one of the top five universities in Brazil. This program is an exceptional opportunity for Park University students to spend a semester or year at this elite institution of higher learning. You can study intensive Portuguese, or choose from a select number of courses offered in English at the university. You can also engage in community service projects with underprivileged children.

The Campus:

Courses of study:

Intensive Portuguese

Portuguese as a second language- offered in three different skill levels (beginner, intermediate I, II, and advanced I, II proficiency levels)

Courses in English

In general, the courses taught in English have a content based on Brazilian and Latin American aspect, such as: culture, business, design, civilization and history, among others. Students selecting this option must also take Portuguese language courses.

Academic Calendar:

1st semester: February/March to mid-July

2nd semester: August to mid-December

The application deadline for study in the first semester is September 30. The deadline for the second semester is April 30. Semester costs including tuition and housing start at $8,400.

A $200 deposit is due at time of application. Applications should be submitted in Herr House, room 300.
