International Programs on the Park University Parkville Campus
Can't get away? Now is your chance to get global right on your home campus!
Get involved in one of these activities, or attend a presentation.
- Coming to America
Come to the cafeteria, grab a lunch, and learn about your fellow students!
Several times each semester, Park students from around the world speak during
lunch hour in the cafeteria alcove about life in their host countries. This
is a quick, easy way to learn more about the world, and about your fellow
students! If you'd like to be a presenter, e-mail studyabroad@park.edu.
- International Career Day
Part of the Global Future Program, International Career Day is an opportunity
in late spring of each year for Park University students to learn more about
global career options. The 2008 International Career Day date will be announced
soon. Keep checking back for more information!
- International Education Week
The third week of November of each year is the American celebration of International
Education Week. Park University celebrates this national event with a week
of global-themed activities. The 2006 schedule will be available in the fall.
- Model United Nations
Get involved in this exciting program! Students research different countries'
historical and political views and then represent those countries during a
mock United Nations session. Students travel to Chicago and New York each
year to participate in national conferences. Meetings are held twice a month
on Friday afternoons.
- People to People International Youth Chapter
Do you want to become more knowledgeable about the world outside Park University?
Get involved in one of Park's international programs! Park University students
participate in a number of programs that make them better global citizens
and help educate the community at the same time. Here are the programs offered
through the Office of International Education:
- Global Future
- International Classroom Partnership Program
This collaboration between Park and the North KC school district sees international
students visiting NKC classrooms to introduce students and parents to their
respective countries. Sessions are organized by continent. Please e-mail studyabroad@park.edu
to get involved. See this year's schedule.
- People to People International
Park University currently has the only university-level People to People International
chapter in the United States. This student groups multicultural understanding
and awareness of values of different cultures through connections between
local student populations, businesses, community, and community organizations.
This organization meets regularly and provides a number of programs to the
Parkville campus. To join PTPI, please contact the Office of International
Education and Study Abroad at (816) 584-6511 or e-mail studyabroad@park.edu.
