The Office of International Education and Study Abroad works independently and in collaboration with Park University academic departments, Park's office of International Student Services, and several international communities to sponsor international academic programs, and extracurricular community activities.

International Programs on Campus

Coming to America

Coming to America is a program which brings together the Park University community in the Herr House lounge to learn about each other's countries and cultures over lunch. Four sessions are held each year, each one focusing on countries in one region of the world. Park University students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

Cultural Sharing

Cultural Sharing is an annual Park University international event that seeks global understanding through cultural sharing.

Students, faculty, and staff join together to perform cultural traditions in a theatrical performance for the community.

This annual event celebrates the culture of one country of the world with the help of the local ethnic community. The event is performed on the Park University campus, and is open to the public.

Global Future

Global Future is a joint collaboration between the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce World Trade Center and Park University. Students, chosen by faculty advisors or professor recommendation, meet monthly to learn from international business professionals and executives.

Many Kansas City area universities participate in this program.

 

International Classroom Partnership Program

A collaboration between Park University, the International Relations Council, and the North Kansas City School District invites international students to visit local area classrooms to introduce students and parents to their respective countries.

Sessions are organized by region.

Language conversation time

Take a few minutes to practice your French, Russian or Spanish. Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited.

Model Organization of American States of Park University

Park University's student MOAS club gathers university students together to study, discuss, and debate the pressing issues of the international affairs of the Western hemisphere. Eligible students travel to Washington D.C. to participate in the annual national MOAS conference.

 

Model United Nations of Park University

Through Park University's Model United Nations club, students have the opportunity to research different countries' historical and political views and represent those countries during a mock United Nations session.Students travel to Chicago and New York each year to participate in national conferences.

People to People International of Park University


Park University is home to one of few university level chapters of People to People International. Members of Park University's chapter participate in a wide variety of activities both on on and off-campus. They also attend People to People International events around the globe.
