Sept. 20, 2013 — Park University's School of Education and the Dorothy Harper Watson Literacy Center have partnered with Barnes & Noble at Zona Rosa to conduct a book fair in support of Park Hill (Mo.) School District students on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will support the University's annual River Read Children's Literature Festival, which will be held this year on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The event provides hundreds of fourth and fifth grade students from PHSD the opportunity to meet local authors and explore literature on the University's Parkville Campus.

If a person makes a purchase at the Barnes & Noble Zona Rosa location (8625 NW Prairie View Road in Kansas City, Mo.), including the store's cafe;, or online, using Park's book fair ID (11188984), a portion of the sale will benefit the Festival. Or, if making a purchase in-store, simply mention the Park Hill School District or the River Read Children's Literature Festival to support the event.

For more information on the book fair or the River Read Children's Literature Festival, contact Shannon Cuff, Ph.D., assistant professor of literacy education and area coordinator for Park's Master of Education in Language and Literacy program, at (816) 584-6539 or
